The tennis competition was held on Saturday with Totally Tennis maintaining their unbeaten record in the competition winning a convincing 14 — 0 overall. In the singles, Ollie won 6 — 4, Josh 6-3 and 6 — 1, Dylan 6 — 4, Tinuke 6 — 1, Harry 6 — 3, Kirsty 6 — 1, James 6 — 0 and 6 — 1 and Isla 6 — 0. The four-day annual event, organised by Kevin Laing from the Basingstoke Voluntary Sports Council, included training and competition in a variety of sports culminating in the final presentation singles euskirchen Saturday evening. The German players arrived on Thursday night and stayed with their host families before the first training session at the club on Friday morning. In the afternoon the players enjoyed some free time at the Basingstoke Jump Factory before returning to the club for some more training followed by a social pizza and chilli night in the clubhouse. Prior to the competition starting on Saturday morning the players were visited by the mayor and mayoress of Basingstoke along with others from the civic party of both Basingstoke and Euskirchen. We look forward to returning to Euskirchen next year for another Festival of Sport and defending our record. In the singles Dawson beat Ackerman 6-0, Hignett won against Bachem 6-0 and Loick 6-1, Bromilow beat Sachem 6-2 and Dingwall lost to Becker 6-4. Totally Tennis is a thriving and buzzing tennis organisation that for the last two decades has been the driving force of tennis development in Hampshire. A fantastic facility with four indoor and four outdoor courts at the main site located in Basingstoke's War Memorial Park. The club also runs a programme at Stratton Park on six outdoor hard courts, and the tennis programmes at Hampshire Court and Sherfield School.
